If it is, and I can get the help here, I am happy to donate to VLC in recognition of being able to get rid of 100+ DVDs. It had a similar problem, which makes me think the problem is PICNIC. I tried, once, with the five-minute version of WinX DVD Ripper.

But every movie I've tried since, including the special edition version of Spaceballs that we own, eventually comes out of sync with the audio. My first attempt at ripping a DVD worked great, the 1987 movie Spaceballs. It turns out there was a setting in the group policy that was keeping me from being able to use my DVD player. I access it through remote desktop on my day-to-day computer.
I don't think this next piece is at play here, but I mention it because it was a couple of years' worth of frustration. I'm not opposed to spending money if I knew it would work, but I'm a little concerned about a problem I'm having with audio sync. Through several pages deep on Google, VLC is offered as a very reasonable free option for ripping DVDs. So, it makes sense that we transition from rack after rack after rack of kid's DVDs and make them available on a media server. ( ) We are down to a single DVD player in the entire house, but every TV has a Roku. Recently, I moved towards a PLEX server to stream kids shows across the house. I use it for codec support on some old mpegs and I infrequently use it to rip YouTube help videos for my archive of "how to do stuff." Until now, I have only used VLC for a few niche items. Hello! I am not a super user, so please let me know if there is additional detail I should add.
